The Apple Doesn’t Fall Far From the Tree

Band Director’s Family Tree is BRANCHing OUT

Ladies and Gentlemen, we are proud to introduce to you the lovely and (no doubt) talented, Ella Jane Branch. She was born on Friday 10/23/2015, weighed 8 lbs. 13 oz., and was 21.75 inches long.  As a new addition to the Branch family tree, Ella is already a lively kid, filled with smiles and curiosity. “She is full of personality,” says West Geauga band director, Mr. Jason Branch. As this is his first child, he is already enjoying every moment with Ella.

When Mr. Branch and his wife, Sara, found out they were expecting, they were so excited! Mrs. Branch’s pregnancy went very well and she felt great…even with the occasional craving for chocolate milk. They found out the gender right away and told everyone. However, they kept her name a surprise. Her name is very special, too: it is homage to famous jazz singer Ella Jane Fitzgerald. With a name like that and a dad as a band director, Ella is sure to be involved with music as soon as possible: whether she knows it or not. “I don’t know what instrument she will play yet, though. She might have a say in that,” said Mr. Branch.

Some other events he is looking forward to with Ella are seeing her grow up as an individual and develop her own personality more.  He can’t wait for her to start having her own unique experiences like playing in the snow and going to the zoo.  “Watching her develop and explore her brand new world each day is magical.”

While Mr. Branch has been enjoying every day with Ella, some things took a little adjusting. “Sleep is much less of a priority than it was before,” he says.  Leaving the house has also become a larger event and more complicated. The transition from taking care of her at home to bringing her to day care has also been tough. All the trouble is worth it, though.  Ella’s curiosity and happiness is something he really loves about her and will most likely get stronger as she grows up.

We wish the best of luck to the new parents and hope that every day continues to be magical.
