After finishing out a tough 2014 season with a record of 5-9-2, the varsity boys soccer program is making a comeback. Led by senior captains Ben Hester and Neil Johnson, both varsity starters for the last three years, the team has a current record of 6-6-3.

The boys have been preparing since last summer for this highly anticipated season with mini camps, tournaments, and optional practices twice per week before the school year even officially started. Their regular season started in August and will end on October 13th.

The team’s goals for this season included maintaining a record above .500, winning their first round playoff game, and winning an overdue Chagrin Valley Conference title in their home match versus rival Chagrin Falls at Howell Field on October 6th, which they tied 2-2.

Thus far, their season has been a success, with each member of the team growing together, as well individually in their skills. Head coach Mr. Brian Murphy said, “The growth from our initial practice to the final match is always fun to watch develop.”

We wish the boys the best of luck in the rest of their season as well as in the playoffs. Go Wolverines!
