The Javorek Clan Expands

Cameron the Cutie

On June 2nd at 10:57 a.m. Cameron James Javorek was welcomed into the world. His mother, Mrs. Gina Javorek, is a teacher at West Geauga Middle School. His father, Mr. Jeff Javorek, is our boys varsity basketball coach. They both also happen to be West Geauga graduates. In addition to his mom and dad, his grandma is also a West Geauga employee.  Mrs. Terri Javorek has been teaching at Westwood Elementary for years. If Cam goes to West Geauga for school, he will certainly be extending the family tradition.

When Mrs. Javorek found out she was expecting, she had a mix of emotions. “I was surprised, scared, shocked and ecstatic all at the same time. I couldn’t even speak,” she said. During the long nine months, some women experience many challenges. To Mrs. Javorek’s surprise (and advantage), she felt good during all three trimesters.

As everyone would expect, taking care of a new born is extremely hard work. According to Mrs. Javorek, the pregnancy, labor and delivery were a breeze, compared to taking care of the baby. The new parents are lucky in the respect that Cam often sleeps through the night.

It was a bit ironic that I was assigned to write this article. Mrs. Javorek was my babysitter when she was in high school. It is crazy to think that she is now married and has a child of her own. It seems like just last year she was at my house on a Saturday night, standing at my stove, helping me make mac and cheese. She was my favorite babysitter when I was young and will be a GREAT mom, I am sure.

Having a newborn has been one of the most challenging things the Javorek’s have ever done in their lives, but, at the same time, it’s been one of the best things that has ever happened to them. A congrats to the Javorek’s on the birth of baby Cam.

Chesterland and West Geauga will, no doubt, watch him grow up into a young man.
