Gymnastics Calls it a Wrap

Season Ends with State

Gymnastics Calls it a Wrap

This past season for your very own West Geauga Wolverines gymnastics team proved to be a very successful one.

At the much anticipated Chagrin Valley Conference tournament, West Geauga took first place out of a multitude of schools. The meet was held at West Geauga High School and there were many notable competitors in terms of performance. Sophomore Caroline Wolfhope placed second on uneven bars and also took third place for all – around performance. For floor, sophomore Alexis Ange also placed second.

In the OHSAA tournaments, West Geauga saw many qualifiers for districts and even state. For districts, Maddie Prosek and Lexi Ange qualified in floor, and Caroline Wolfhope qualified on bars.

Maddie Prosek also qualified for the state competition and received a score of 8.95. Head coach Mrs. Gina Javorek said, “She did not medal, but she did a great job and we are very proud of her.”

Overall, this season was definitely one to “flip” for. We wish gymnastics seniors Elise Sanelli and Katina Demarchi the best of luck in their future endeavors.

We look forward to another great season of gymnastics in 2016!
