Senior Cheerleaders Shining Bright on Friday Nights

The cheerleaders this past season did an exceptional job pumping up the crowds at the home varsity football games. They spent the entire season making locker signs, coming up with cheers and making the football games even more exciting for the players and the crowd. Katina Demarchi, Leah Federico, Nicole Camino, Abby Carmigiano and Rachel Springsteel were the captains this year for football cheerleading. They were in charge of keeping 42 girls “in line,” both literally and figuratively at all times. “The seniors have done a great job with leadership,” said Mrs. Kim Zannetti, the head cheer coach at West Geauga High School. “Our goal is for every girl to bring her personal best to the squad.”

The girls not only performed at the football games on Friday nights, but they also performed at pep assemblies. “The homecoming assembly was great,” said Zannetti. “The girls worked very hard to do well.”

“I’m already looking forward to next season,” said Cassidy Czikray, junior varsity cheerleader. “It’s my favorite time of the year.”
