The 2014 baseball season has arrived, which means as much to some of these young men as it did when they were young boys, playing their first t-ball games and witnessing the sparkle in their young eyes when they got their first hits. Seniors this year playing varsity are Andrew Centrackio, Mike Koller, Joey Centrackio, Nathan Ickes, John Monaco, and Ross Clark.

The teams could not play their opening games at home due to issues with the fences here at West Geauga. As such, they started the season playing at Chagrin Falls’ field for home games. Their current record is 2-11. Even though they might not be starting off the season as well as they had hoped, they still have faith for the future.

Head coach Mr. Phil Byron said, “We have struggled with injuries with our pitching staff.”

The team has lost five 1 – run games, four in the last at – bat, and three in extra innings. The trick in the second half of the season will be to start making the close losses turn into victories.
