Rains, Becker & Johnson at Robotics State

This past weekend, West Geauga High School’s robotics team took a drive down to Cincinnati for the state tournament. For those of you who don’t know, our team consists of three people: seniors, Joey Rains and Alex Becker, and junior, Benny Johnson. The team is led by teachers, Mr. Brian Spotts and Mrs. Natalie Cooper.

At the state tournament, there were 28 other teams from all over Ohio. Each team is given the opportunity to compete in five different rounds before the qualifiers are chosen to move on to the next round. Our team went 1-4 in that competition and was, unfortunately, not chosen to move on to super-regionals. Although they weren’t chosen, senior

Alex said, “It was exciting but made me feel nerdy,” about the overall experience.

Congratulations to the team for making it to state !
