West Geauga Band Performs at OSU

On Saturday, October 12th, the West Geauga Marching band traveled to the Ohio State University campus for an all-day band event. The day started with a warm up on the Ohio State’s band practice field, right next to the “shoe.” The band then marched around to the entrance of the field. After entering, we performed the Chicago Show, which includes songs Make me Smile, Saturday in the Park, 25 or 6 to 4, and Hard to Say I’m Sorry/Getaway.

Once the band exited the field, we were escorted up to the OSU band room, where we watched a video of our performance and heard a speech from OSU’s band director. WGMB’s band director, Mr. Jason Branch said, “It was amazing! Ohio State still feels like home to me. I was born and raised on the east side of Columbus, and all of my family and many of my friends are in that area still, so it’s always great to be close to them. I marched in TBDBITL from 2004-2008, and seeing the WGMB on the same field that I marched on so many times was a great experience!”

For those who are interested, Mr. Branch has a video of the band’s performance. Awesome job, band!
