Boys Soccer Finishes Successful Campaign

Meeting their GOALS

When you hear the word, autumn, what do you think of? Because we live in Chesterland, you would probably think of Patterson’s Fruit Farm, leaves changing, pumpkins, apple cider, and of course, cold West Geauga Football games. But these boys think of gruesome practices, running the loop in under 16 minutes and 50 seconds, and winning versus Chagrin Falls, the hardest team to beat in the CVC.  We’re talking about our West Geauga junior varsity and varsity boys soccer teams.

With a final record of 8 – 8 – 2, the boys had a successful, but at times, rough season. They never gave up, though. “It has been a year of development and learning through a tough competitive schedule,” said Mr. Brian Murphy, head coach, “which led the team to be poised and ready for the playoffs.”

The seniors this year were Owen Hester (captain), Josh Ebersbacher (captain), Matt Nagg, Tom Karlsson, and Nick Kamis.

The West Geauga boys teams began conditioning at the beginning of the summer and have been practicing since August 5th.  Despite some of the scores, the boys on the team had plenty of heart and determination.

Thanks to the seniors for a GREAT season !
