Another New Face at the High School…No Kidding !

Kidwell Joins Staff at WGHS and WGMS

After having spent his entire career at the elementary level, Mr. Bradley Kidwell is a West Geauga middle school and high school Intervention Specialist for the 2019 school year. You can find him at the high school for the first two periods of the day and then at the middle school the rest of the day. Mr. Kidwell is not experiencing his first “educational rodeo,” as he has been teaching for the past 12 years.

One could make the argument that he was destined to be an educator, as Mr. Kidwell grew up around education.. His father is a retired high school teacher of 35 years. His brother, Bubba, is a teacher, and his wife, Rebecca, is also a teacher. It has not been all education, however.

He worked for a basement waterproofing company as a laborer two years and was a sales “rep” for Coca-Cola for two years. During the summer in college, he worked for the Columbus Health Department as a seasonal aide. But education was always his calling.

Mr. Kidwell attended Gahanna Lincoln High School in suburban Columbus and then continued his education at Baldwin-Wallace University. At BW he played football for 4 years. When not meeting the needs of his students, Mr. Kidwell likes to work out, run long distances, do yard work, and play with his son and daughter. Speaking of whom…

Mr. Kidwell has been married to his wife for 12 years and they have a son named Kane (6 years old) and a daughter, Kinsley, (16 months). They currently live in Chesterland.

When asked what his goals for his students are, he responded, “…to have confidence and feel empowered to complete any academic task asked of them.” In addition, Kidwell noted, “The West Geauga teachers and staff are so knowledgeable and such hard workers.”

As a final thought, Mr. Kidwell reminded us that the most positive quality that the high school and middle has shown him is that the West G students are, “…great kids who have a strong desire to be successful.”
